In the election of the third term of the Legislative Council in 2004, the number of seats from geographical constituencies will be increased to 30							In the year 2000, we will elect the second term of the Legislative Council. According to the Basic Law, the number of seats from geographical constituencies will be increased from 20 to 24.

The Basic Law provides a mechanism for Hong Kong people to decide how best to achieve that ultimate aim after 2007
